Teen Leadership Positions

Teen Leadership is very important to us at BLA. In order to make the experience as rewarding as possible for our Scouts, we are working to make the process more comprehensive. Please pay close attention to the following instructions so our placement decisions work best for your Scout.

AIT (Aide in Training) Requirements: 

• Previous attendance at a Girl Scout day/evening camp is preferred but not required. 

• Prospective AIT's must have completed 6th grade. 

For Prospective AITs: Please fill out this application before registering for camp. If you have been accepted, you will then be notified to register.

• You will need contact information for two references. Make sure they know to look for an email from burkelakeaides@gmail.com.

Aide Requirements: 

• You must have completed 9th grade OR have attended BLA in the past.

For All Aides: Register before the application process, then fill out this application. 

• Aides who have not previously been to Girl Scout camp will be considered depending on experience and recommendations. 

  • You will need contact information for two references. Make sure they know to look for an email from burkelakeaides@gmail.com. 

• If you have attended camp as an Aide previously, you still need to apply.

• If for some reason you are not accepted as an Aide, you will receive a full refund.

Teen Volunteer Hours:  Hours earned as an AIT or Aide may be used towards community service for school as well as for GS Silver Trefoil requirements. Each AIT/Aide will receive an individual signed letter with their eligible hours filled in. 

CIT Program: Because of changes to the Gold Award pre-requisites as far as CIT programs, we are actively working with GSCNC on how to make the program work at BLA. If you have any questions about CIT programs, please email our main contact at burkelakecamp@gmail.com.
